  How To Train Your Dragon is a 2014 American 3D computer film, it produced by Dream Works Animation. This film connect with How To Train Your Dragon. I watched How To Train Your Dragon 2 in the winter break. This film talk about a boy who is Dragon master's leader named Hiccup. He want to protect dragon, and live in peace with dragon. 

  In the last film-How To Train Your Dragon talk about Hiccup's father - Stoick is a dragon killer. One day, a dragon was injured by Hiccup. Hiccup think this dragon is kind and cute. Then, Hiccup help it to fly. They are become to best friends.  

  In How To Train Your Dragon 2, Berk Island become to a peaceful island. Dragon and people help each other and live together. Hiccup and his dragon find new grand. When they saw the huge iceberg, Hiccup's friend - Astrid and her dragon get catch with a net. They meet a dragon killer named Eret. He think Hiccup and his dragon destroyed their village,. Then he wanted to bring Hiccup and Astrid to a crazy dragon killer named Drago Bludvist. Hiccup and his friends escape from Eret, and told his father Drago Bludvist want to control all the dragon. Then, Stoick get ready for the war with Drago Bludvist. But Hiccup think he can stop this war. Then, he find Eret again with his dragon, his father don't want he go and stop him. It can not stop him, Hiccup go find  Drago Bludvist alone with his dragon. When he and his dragon fly on the huge ice, a dragon master named Valka catch them. Valka is Hiccup's mother. Valka told Hiccup she saved lots of dragons from Drago Bludvist in 20 years. She bring them to a mysterious island. All the dragons should follow Bewilderbeast, because he is a king of the dragon. Stoick used smell to find Hiccup and his dragon. They get together. Astrid and her dragon go find Drago Bludvist, but his dragon army are so strong. Then, Drago Bludvist know Berk Island has lots of dragon, and he go there with his dragon army. His Bewilderbeast fight with Astrid's Bewilderbeast. But Drago Bludvist's Bewilderbeast won. Then, Drago Bludvist control all the dragon that live in the Berk Island. Hiccup's dragon also controled by Drago Bludvist. Drago Bludvist asked Hiccup's dragon kill Hiccup, but Hiccup's father saved him. Then, Hiccup's father died. Hiccup very sad, he pushed his dragon away. Drago Bludvist got all the dragon. Hiccup and his friends drive young dragon to help dragon that control by Drago Bludvist. Hiccup made his dragon rehabilitate. Drago Bludvist's Bewilderbeast want to kill Hiccup and his dragon, but Hiccup's dragon become to very strong, and fight with Drago Bludvist's Bewilderbeast. At the end, Drago Bludvist's Bewilderbeast run away. After a few month, people made a sculpture for Storick. Hiccup prove to be a village leader.

  Clarence Birdseye was an American inventor, entrepreneur, and is consider to be the founder of the modern frozen food industry. He was born in Brooklyn, on December 9, 1886. When he was born, the technology invention were very popular. A lot of inventor invent some thing in that time. For example, George Eastman who was to have a profound effect on Birdseye. He invented and patented the roll film in 1884. He also produced a lightweight camera. So, in this time, world gets a lot of improve. Birdseye has  a very funny name, then he dropped the Clarence. Birdseye didn't finish school, because of family. He has a difficult family, so he can not continue school. Then, he moved west for United States.
  Birdseye was a very famous scientist in America. In the early twentieth century, a man named Bob like Clarence Birdseye. That is because he also love science and adventure. Bob has been born into an exciting age of medical pioneers whose defeat of dreaded diseases made them into larger than life heroes. Bob wanted to work together with Clarence Birdseye. The government decided to send a group of medical crusaders to the Bitterroot Montana. Then, they has some problem. When the government wanted to ask for volunteers, the answer was "why not ask Birdseye". Bob was one of only two volunteers from the survey. So, Birdseye was a very famous scientist. 
  Birdseye has permanent enthusiasm on making frozen food. He dropped the school because of money, but it can not stop him to study. When he was in school, he just good at his favorite subject. He interested in invent frozen food. When he invented frozen food, most of New York people  did't like it. Then, he went to the oldest fishing town in United States, and study new. So, any problems can not stop him to research frozen food. 
  At the end, I think Clarence Birdseye was a very great inventor. He never stop his dream, and he made effort on frozen food. 

Adventure to North Pole

 Jack is an entrepreneur who owns lots of patents. Recently, he doesn't feel good and coughs a lot. So he goes to see his private doctor. The doctor says: " Base on your symptoms, you get tuberculosis." When his family hear about this news, they are astounded. His family think a bitterly cold place will have fresh air which will make Jack get better. So he goes to North Pole. Because of the peculiar environment, he dose not adjust himself very well and gets frostbite. However, he can't go back, he starts his expedition in North Pole.  He manufactures many useful tools to help people live in the North Pole and lives there happily forever.

Comparison of the book and the movie

  Today, we watched all the movie. I think the movie do not have lots of detail. For example, father and Ashmol lose Pobby and Dingan. Kellyanne was very sad, and she got sick when she knew this thing. Then, she wanted father and Ashmol to find Pobby and Dingan in the field. When they went to there, father got the problem, because other people think his father is a thief. Then, Kellyanne got sick, she wanted Ashmol to go field again, and find the Pobby and Dingan. In the movie, Ashmol rode the bicycle to their, and he just bring a flashlight. But in the book, Ashmol bring a sausage for dog. That is because, the dog is next to the hole. So, the book has more details. At the end of book, they have a very sad end - Kellyanne was die. That is because, Kellyanne got a very special disease. Ashmol made a funeral for Pobby and Dingan, because he wanted Kellyanne feel better. But it doesn't make Kellyanne get better.  But in the movie, Ashmol also made a funeral for Pobby and Dingan. There were lots of people in there. Then, the movie was end. The movie did't show us Kellyanne was die. I think the end is the most different thing between the book and the movie. We do not know Kellyanne's life when the movie ended. So, I think the book has more details. The movie  show us people's action and expression. It can help us easy to understand the story. But we can not see it in book, we just can imagine the story. At the last, the book and the movie has lots of difference. So, we can use movie to understand the story, and use book to learn the writing skills. It can help us a lot.

Fall Production of Galileo review

                            Fall Production of Galileo review
  Yesterday, John, Leo and I watched the drama of Galileo. After we are seated and door's closed, theater seemed to be quiet and dark. Suddenly beams of light appeard and main characters started to perform. The protagonist of the show is Galileo of course, he is an astronomy who believed in sun-centred universe or heliocentric. However almost nobody around Galileo listen to his idea nd follow his ideas. Even more, the Catholic church who believes in earth-centered universe started to trust him.  During the show Galileo is in the jail bevause of spreading his ideas to everybody. However, the show is much harder than I thought it will be. The dialogs were full of vocabulary and short phrases. Also, over the whole show some parts were really confusing and full of misunderstanding. If a person do not know what happened during that period of time, it was really hard to finish the show and understand the show. Luckily there was a water break during the show and there is some food in the gym. During the break we decided to finish the show because there is nothing else to do. However, on the second half of the show, it is more confusing. The only thing I know is Galileo was released from the jail for some reason and then he seems tired. Although the plot was hard to understand, the show still had a lot of good singers and actors. During the show there was a lot of singings maybe solo or song by multiple singers. There was a lot of local Cheshire's citizen coming to enjoy the show. Mostly they are old, but they seemd nice. There was also some young children watching the show, some children talked and interrupeted the show. There parents seem sorry and stopped there child or take them out immedietly. However during most part of show it was quiet and everybody focused on the show. After they performed, the characters thanked the audience and everybody clapped. Even more, there was somebody shouting "Bravo" and made a laughter. When we walked downstairs after the show was finished, we saw the main characters stand beside us in the hallway in two rows. They said thank you and shake hands with each person. In my opinion, I think if they hand us a plot summary it will be much helpful. I heard from other international students they complained about the show that it is really hard to understand. So do I, if they speak more clearly or just make an explanation of some scenes, it will be much excited. Or I shall improve my listening skill to understand the show. In conclusion, I still think they did a great work on fall production and if next show is easier I may come.

Galileo  was born in Italy, in 1564. His father was a famous lutenist, composer, and misic theorist, and Giulia Ammannati. Galileo became an accomplished lutenist himself and would have learned early from his father a healthy scepticism for established authority, the value of well-measured or quantified experimentation, an appreciation for a periodic or musical measure of time or rhythm, as well as the illuminative progeny to expect from a marriage of mathematics and experiment.
Galileo was named after an ancestor, Galileo Bonaiuti, a physician, university teacher and politician who lived in Florence from 1370 to 1450; at that time in the late 14th century, the family's surname shifted from Bonaiuti to Galilei.Although a genuinely pious Roman Catholic, Galileo fathered three children out of wedlock with Marmin. They had two daughters, Virginia in 1600 and Livia in 1601, and one son, Vincenzo, in 1606. Because of their illegitimate birth, their father considered the girls unmarriageable, if not posing problems of prohibitively expensive support or dowries, which would have been similar to Galileo's previous extensive financial problems with two of his sisters. Their only worthy alternative was the religious life.   Kellyanne missed her friendswhen father and Ahmol came back. She can not find them. She wanted to find them, but she did't. Ashmol's father wanted to find the opal, but he did't. I think Kellyanne's imagery friends like opal. Kellyanne was die, she leaves this world, but she let everyone who lived in this town have imagery friends. Substance can find in this world, like opal. But absences can not find in this world, it is stay in people's mind, like Kellyanne's imagery friends.

  It's been an interesting book to since the first day that I started to read it, I just love it so much. The genre of this book is quite unique that talks about imaginary friends, which is an unreal but common existing, especially to special groups of people like young children.The main characters in the book are exactly two kids - Kellyanne and Ashmol.
  Ashmol is the older brother, and my favorite character. The author used a special way to show Ashmol's view - first person narrating. It's a better way to narrate because third person narrating can't put readers in a vivid situation like that.I love to get into the plot and I even feel upset or happy for the characters.For example, when the father was caught and others thought he was a thief, I feel really angry and feel so sorry for him. And another example, when Kellyanne got sick, I almost feel like the whole story is over because she is such an important character.
  The author is from Australia so he puts a lot of Australian culture in the article such as slang like fruit loop. It's sometimes hard to understand them but they are still interesting and make us understand Australia better. However, he doesn't over use the Australian tone, so that most of the readers can actually understand it.
  The detailed descriptions on characters' language and body movements had became the highlight of the whole article. For instance, a quote from page 7: “My dad pulled a face. ‘Who? Pobby and Dingan? Ha!" He drained his beer can, positioned it standing up on the floor and stamped on it until it was a disc of metal. Then he threw a wink as if to say: 'Here comes the next wave of the attack, Ashmol!'

                                                          Reflect the personal goals

  When I started this period, I felt this period is hard. That is because in this period, we should read some books, poems. I did't read English poems before. I read Persepolis in this period. It's help me to get more new word. For example, when I read Persepolis, there are lots of new words. I always use translater to translate words. It's can help me to remember more new words. I also studied about the poems. I read 6 poems, and analysis them. I got some vocabulary words, and I improved my writing skill. I just can write 200 words before I have this class, but now I can write 700 words writing. 
  I will still improve my vocabulary words on next marking period. Also, I will try my best to write my essay. On next marking period, I should finish every homework. I also should listen to the teacher in the class. I must work hard on next period.

 Grandmother is a very important person for us, because she was very good to us,

she always make some delicious food to us. So, the author talk about her

grandmother. She missed her grandmother, because she said it is possible we will 

not meet again. She want meet her grandmother.The neighbor's house must stand,

because it don't have choose. It just can wait free. But the other heroic cow has

free. I think the author use 2 animals to compare something. The author said we

live in the never one place, because we can not live in the same place. We must

leave the hometown. The author and her grandmother missed each other, and she

think the memory is most important things, because it can make us rich.

 The background of  the reason why the author wrote this poem is that people started to discriminate Arab people after 9/11. Because the terrorists that planed the attack were Arabian, including Osama Ben Laden,which was the most famous terrorist in the world. This event brought the whole Arab nation a horrible fame, and that’s why Nye wanted to write this poem for explaining the truth of Arab people to the world. She mainly introduced a few aspects in the poem and use different things to stand for them. I think the reason why he didn’t use straight expressions to tell them but use different things to represent them, is because that she wants the readers to understand them by knowing the essence of the poem. I like this method because we can tell the points as well as knowing some interesting facts about the Arab culture.

 The first point that she mentioned is that the deep and mysterious Arab culture is accumulated years by years, centuries by centuries, took a really long time to form. And I quote”It was never too strong for us, make it blacker, Papa, thick in the bottom, tell again how the years will gather, in small white cups, how luck lives in a spot of grounds.” She used Arab coffee to represent the Arab culture, “never strong for us” means that their culture is too “thick” , and nothing can really penetrate it. She is kind of giving the hint that coffee is the culture by saying that “years gather”. The first paragraph is playing a great role starts the whole article by a main concept of Arab culture, so that she can explore more details and list them below, which she did. For example,I quote”Leaning over the stove, he let it boil to the top, and down again. Two times. No sugar in his pot” These sentences truly gives the idea that Arab culture has been formed , thumping by different challenges and difficulties. In my opinion. “No sugar on his pot” means that the Arab culture is pure, unadulterated. This is a fantastic use of representation.

 In the rest of the article she introduced the readers several things of Arab culture, for example, quotes, “olive-wood beads”, “pocket handkerchiefs”, “dish of corn”. “Olive wood beads” is the ingredients that make coffee, and it’s showing the spirit of simple and sincere of Arab people. The reason why I say it represents Arab people is because coffee beans make coffee and Arab nation is consists of Arab people. It exactly fits the relationship. “Pocket handkerchiefs” is the symbol of Arab people and one of the most significant dressing code for them.

 In conclusion, the article shows different essences of Arab cultrue, and she is using her own words to tell the world that Arab people are not the in the way that they think. On the other hand, people should get to know about them better because they have such interesting ethinic backgrounds.

  This book talk about a girl who born in Iran. Her name is Marjane. When she was young, Iran's government was chaotic. Then Iran and Iraq are in the war. Marjane and her family always in the danger. when she grow up, all the women and girl should wear the veil, because it can shield their face. One day, she told off her teacher. Her father and mother don't want her in the danger, they send Marjane to other country.
  First, I think the author want to tell some truth about the Iran. For example, Marjane's uncle was in the prison, he beared lots of pain. He told Marjane his experience and his life that in the prison. He is a good person, but he was executed in the prison, and this news on the newspaper. They think kill people who oppose this government is a right choose. Second, the author want to show us the love that in the family. When the Iran fight with Iraq, lots of aircraft assault the place that Marjane and her parents living. One day, Marjane was go shopping with her friends, a bomb explode near their house. She was very scare, and she ran to her house. Her mother saw her and embrace with Marjane. I think this thing can prove they love each other. Third, the author wants to tell we should love our country. Marjane has a grandmother, and her grandmother always told her should love our country. Sometimes, Marjane did't achieve this.
  The author's name is Marjane Satrapi, the girl's who is in the book name is Marjane. I think the author's life is similar with the girl's life. The author was born in Iran. She undergo all the war. She used a story to tell us the history of Iran. I think reader can understand the history by reading this book, and understand the meaning of it. This book contains great details of Iran's ethnic background, and readers have to understand the stories in order to get them.
  The most important thing that the author wants the readers to know Iran's history, and he uses a great way to do it which was mentioned above. People wouldn't want to know about the information if the author just give them by listing it below. However, making the character shows them is easier because readers can has the same feelings with the character.

  Persepolis’s author is Marjane Satrapi who was born in Iran, and she wanted to use this book

to let more people know the history about the Iran. Persepolis talk about a girl’s  life

experience. The girl’s name is Marjane, she was born in Iran. She likes the history of Iran.

She has a cozy family including her parents, her grandmother and her. Her grandmother is a

important character in this book, because she influence Marjane to become a good Iran

person. Because she always tells Marjane some important truth of the history.

  Grandmother has white hair, and she always wear a pearl necklace. She wear a black dress.

If we just look at her appearance, she just a ordinary person. But she is a important character

in Persepolis. The reason why she is so important is that she always tells Marjane some

views on her life. For example, when grandmother was young, Shan’s father took everthing

they owned. She lived in Poverty. Grandmother had only bread to eat. She was so ashamed

that she pretended to cook so that the neighbors would’t notice anything. Marjane was so sad

when she hear about that, and she hate Shan’ father.

  Sometimes Marjane’s grandmother is very funny in the family. One day, lots of people

demonstrations and protests on the street. The police shoot a person who demonstrations

and protests on the street, and that person was died. People called him martyr. Marjane’

grandmother hear about this thing, and said if she die now at least she will be a martyr.

Because she also oppose the government. But Marjane do not understand what is it mean,

and she think that person died because of cancer.

  Marjane’s grandmother is very kind. Marjane slept with her grandmother when she will went

to other country. Her grandmother gived her some helpful advices. Marjane’ s grandmother

said Marjane will meet los of jerks. If they hurt Marjane, tell yourself that it is because they are

stupid. Always keep your dignity and be ture to yourself. Marjane was very sad when she will

leave her family. Her grandmother also sad, because she loves Marjane, and she wanted

Marjane to have a good time in Austria.

  Marjane’s grandmother is very clecer. One day, Marjane’ parents, Marjane and her

gandmother will go home by car. When they went home on the way, some guys who has a

gun asked them to halt. Then, the guy think Marjane’s father been drinking, and they want to

check Marjane family’s house. Marjane’s grandmother want to go in house first, when they

arrive there. But the guy disagree that, then Marjane’s grandmother pretend her sick. After

that, Marjane and her grandmother throw all wine. So, I think Marjane’ grandmother is very

clever.

  Marjane’s grandmother loves Marjane and her family. She don’t want her family to stay in he

dangerous place. She was kind and funny in the life, but she was brave in the dangerous

time. Marjane learned some skills. For example, her granmother told her “be ture to yourself

and that nothing was worse than bitterness and vangeance”. It is means you should know

who you are everytime. Do not forget where are you from. I like Marjane in this book, but I

prefer her grandmother. That is because her grandmother can make a clear distinction

between right and wrong. She always lead the family to do some important things. I think she

likes a guard to protect the Marjane.

Why is the pictures important in this book?

 In Persepolis, there are lots of pictures in the books, and it is like a caricature,but it is not. The pictures are very important in this book. On page47, the political prisoners were liberated a few days later, there are about 3000 people in there. In this picture, we can see 2 parts of people are embrace, a part of people are men, other part of people are children and women. They missed each other, and they are very excited. On page 64, Marjain is very sad to say good bye to her family. She cried in her mom's hug. In this picture, I know she don't want to  leave her family, but she can't choose. So, I think pictures are very important in this book.
